The KPI Institute Consulting implemented the Objectives and Key Results Goal-setting Framework (OKRs). The capabilities were developed not only at the leadership and management level but also when it comes to employees. We offered both the expertise and tuition for properly operating this new paradigm of Performance Management.

Established in 2018, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy drives the emirate’s energy transition efforts, based on economic growth and social development, and environmental sustainability. We met them in 2018 to implement assist them in developing a simplified Performance Management System based on OKRs. Guidance was provided during their transition from the traditional perspective to the concise manner of tracking performance using the OKRs.

Approach

The project started by determining the organizational context, and the foundation for the OKR Framework to be designed. We then make sure that the client organization had the necessary skills and competencies in place. In this way, best practices workshops and coaching sessions were delivered.

We went further with the OKRs and activity formulation session, piloting the methodology, as well as the review and learning mechanism. In this way, Change Management was explored due to the shift from the former to the new Performance Management Architecture. We built the goal-setting framework based on the inputs provided by the stakeholders during dedicated workshops.

The project concluded by having the OKR set at various corporate levels. We set the OKRs for the organization, top and middle management, as well as the employees. In this way, the newly created framework was aligned for all of the organizational components
